President’s Message
My Fellow Members, ( . . . SRC State of The Union)
As the last days of my term on the Board come to a conclusion, I come before you to share the state of our Club. We began as a bridge over troubled waters, but united to overcome the issues that caused us all considerable annoyance and displeasure. We resolved the issues and faced our challenges by championing each other. We moved forward into the adventures and events of the coming year. We are grateful for your trust, respect and support. Our success is a cherished commodity of your support for our Club.
Our membership remains constant. With the interest of 71 members of meetup.com, online groups based on common interests, we are out there and being recognized. Interest in our Club and participation by meetup.com members will help us grow. Vice President Linda Cromheecke organized this for us. A great job, Linda!
By the preliminary audit reports, our club is financially sound and prospering. This is owed to your attendance at club events---and our hard-working treasurer Sue Olson and her committee. A very excellent job, Sue. A dedicated secretary, Darlene Coon provides us with down-to-earth communication, the heart of a true servant. Very good job, Darlene. What? Membership without the effervescent Joann Thigpen? Another great job. We will have to engrave her name on the chair. A true gentleman and eloquent debater on the Board is Mike Yoder, who does a steadfast and resounding good job. I have the greatest newsletter editor. Nancy Moss is one of the cornerstones of the Club and Board---Nancy and her warm friendly smile, a number one!
Our dances are fun. I predict the Return of the DJ, the sequel. But the dances wouldn't happen without Dee McGinnis and her crew.
A special thank you to the two past presidents who advise me---Walt DeRosia and Sue Olson.
Our urgent need and challenge is the need for new officers and board members. Without them nothing can happen. Take the plunge, run for office, and make a difference. Well, I’ve gone on long enough. I am very proud of my Board and you. God Bless.
Lynn
