A Note from Your President ~

July is here and here comes the sunshine!

Independence Day will be here soon. As we celebrate the birth of our Republic, remember how blessed we are to be part of this greatest nation. We acknowledge American exceptionalism, and appreciate our forefathers who with divine intuition gave us this great nation. Have a great 4th of July.

We thank Shirley and Linda for their contributions to our Club, and pray their family issues find resolution in His will and time. Thank you both.

Picnic tickets are available now; contact a board member or Sally. Tickets will be available at the dances too. Come and support the dances, and your favorite SRC functions.

Bob Karche will be playing your favorite dance tunes on July 3rd, followed by Larry Stogsdill on July 17th. Larry brings the music and memories. But most important of all, DJs play your requests. Come and join in on the fun. It's your club and only you can truly make it happen.

We need a new Vice President to serve out the rest of Linda's term as well as a new Treasurer to serve out Shirley's term. These are key officer positions. Please get involved; get off the side lines.

On a personal note, mom continues to improve and heal. But we all suffered a setback when dad went into an insulin coma. Unfortunately he did suffer some brain trauma. They both are together now at Manor Care. Your board and your support have helped me get through this time. We grow older and wiser, but still we feel the pain as our parents and loved ones age. We are all aware of our own mortality, yet know that we are not alone. Thank you all for caring and your uplifting words and prayers.

So, we look to tomorrow's opportunities for SRC. Come and support .your club. We need your help and input. So with all this said, enjoy and share in your family traditions. God bless our Republic and God bless you all!
