President’s Message ~

Isn’t it great to see summer? There is a sun in the sky and it shines on Tacoma! We have so much to live for and so many friends to visit and see. It is time for you to invite your friends to come and dance with you at SRC. The nice dance floor that we are privileged to dance on has room for more dancers. This means more selection of men and women. It is time to share the good experience. Let’s dance with our friends, new and old.

A couple issues have been brought to my attention and I must admit, they are touchy ones at best. This is about dance etiquette and hygiene. How do I discuss this with you and not offend you? Not so easy . . . . How about this? It is great to see the men wearing long pants and collared shirts, which the ladies have already stated they like and feel better about dressing better to dance with the men. And ladies, if you like to wear those nice short skirts that flare out when you spin, please be sure all of you is covered. I think they make dance undergarments for women to cover the less visible parts. Also, if you work in the hot sun before coming to the dance, a shower and deodorant is nice to enhance your demeanor. Enough said.

Another item is the reimbursement of expenditures for SRC. We can’t give you the money in advance for an event but can give you money when there are receipts; but remember, you must stay under the budget for the expenditure to be justified. If you have a house party as an SRC event, the budget is $50. We must have the receipts to reimburse you. Thanks for working with us, having a great event, and representing SRC.

The picnic is coming up August 9, just around the corner. Looking forward to seeing all of you there.
