Highlights from the General Membership Meeting on September 19, 2009
- Board members updated the membership on their activities and responsibilities.
- Members approved a change to the bylaws (Article II. MEMBERS, Section §II.03 Types of Memberships) that allows married couples (alumni) who have let their membership lapse to come back to SRC. The application process would remain the same: submit an application and be approved by the board. Dues are $40 per couple; $7 per person to attend the dances.
- Deana updated members on the Holiday Dance progress. If 165 tickets are sold, the club will cover expenses and see a profit.
- Bill explained that some of the decorations from the 2009 Holiday Dance cannot be accounted for; it has been a source of great frustration and animosity. Bill stated that the club has inventoried and documented all the decorations we do have. He asked for a motion to accept the current inventory and put this issue behind us. Lynn moved, Cathy seconded, to accept the current inventory and move forward. All members approved.
- Bill explained a change to the bylaws he is working on for the January membership meeting. The change would replace the dance director position with a three-person committee. The board will approve
- Bill clarified what “excessive amount” referred to in relation to the amount of alcohol some people bring to the dances.

Board Business
Highlights from the February 23, 2010 board meeting:
- Billie Blattler reviewed the income/expense report for 2009. According to the auditor, Gray’s Accounting, the checkbook, bank statements, and treasurer’s reports are in agreement. Several changes must be made; results will be presented at the membership meeting. Total membership/donation income: $6,694.16; total dance income: $14,514.74; total income: $21,208.90. Copies of monthly income and expenses are available.
- Lynn stated that all adult beverages must be consumed in the dance hall. The kitchen will be off limits to all member and guests, excluding board members and dance committee. All announcements must be cleared through the president or vice president.
- Minutes: M/S/P Nancy/Linda to accept minutes as read.
- Renewal fee to maintain the club’s non-profit status is due March 31.
- Treasurer’s report: M/S/P Darlene/Linda to accept the treasurer’s report.
- Linda enrolled SRC in meetup.com and received 71 contacts so far; she paid the fee through April. She will also check on the TNT ad.
- It was suggested that the age reference on the hot line be dropped.
- Three new members were approved.
- John Webster presented proposed changes to the bylaws to change the board structure: combine Indoor and Outdoor and rename Social, plus add Dance. John will rewrite/clarify language for the March 23 board meeting. Lynn will review at the membership meeting.
- There is no dine out this month.
- Only one current board member has stated he will run again.
- Board reviewed the 2010 budget proposal; Sunshine increased to $125. M/S/P Nancy/Darlene to approve the proposed budget as amended.
- Dan Haugsness is the host for the TGIFs at the Imperial Dragon.
- M/S/P Darlene/Nancy to reimburse Lynn for DJ expenses.
Next meeting will be March 23.
